Quarterly meetings of the New York State Horse Council are held at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Building in Binghamton, NY. All members are invited to join us at these meetings.

The 21st. Annual Competitive Trail Riding Clinic, sponsored by New York State Horse Council and sanctioned by Eastern Competitive Trail Riding Association (ECTRA) will be held May 30, 31, and June 1, 2008 at New York State’s Department of Environmental Conservation Brookfield Trail System

Fall Pleasure Ride

The ride will be held Friday through Monday, October 10 -13, 2008 (Columbus Day Weekend) at New York’s Brookfield Horse Trail system.

Registration Fee: $15.00 for NYSHC members, $35.00 for non-members, $10 for non–riders; no charge for children 12 years of age and under.
All persons (including children) camping, attending and
participating in Ride Events must register.

Ride registration forms and information will be mailed mid May. Ride registration forms will also be available for download June 1st .

New York State now has a sanctioned National High School Rodeo Association (NYSHSRA) which is open to all middle school and high school students in NY! It is very exciting to now have a NY team and we want all of those students in NY, who are interested in competing in rodeo events to know that we are up and running. Please help spread the word!

Experience life in the 1800's. This is a 14 day, 180 mile Wagon Train that will go throughout Cattaraugus County in Western NY. We will be stopping & camping each night in a different Town along the route--having a campfire, history, music, storytelling. Come ride, drive, just watch or join at the campfire. $10/day to ride or drive. Come for the day or 2 weeks. Period clothes are encouraged. Youths age 8-18 can enter the Contest an win a 1 day & 1 night, with a parent/guardian, on the Wagon Train for free. Drawing July 12, 2008. Call for details. Come travel like a pioneer, see how life was for our ancestors.
